Twitter Workshops. Make twiitter part of the plan.
Is your business missing out if you are not on twitter, or not using it as part of your marketing plan? If you have looked at twitter and felt confused you are like the majority of the population. But there are gains if you go about twitter the right way.

Jean you are a natural born motivator ... I feel inspoired ... I see it clearly now .. This is a fantastic way to communicate I am a convert!

the next workshops are Tuesday 8th December, and Friday 11th December. Twitter workshops have been held in November, October and September. Workshops 10 - 12 or 1:30 - 3:30.

Stephen Fry is the most popular celebrity on twitter - you can make yourself the most popular in your niche!

I am hosting a radio programme on Marlow FM on Friday afternoons called "That Fabulous Friday Feeling". It was inspired by twitter's #followfriday where you let twitter (and the world!) know who is doing a good job and is worth following.

Friday's is such a great day .. even if you are going to work all weekend!

Do you have a Fabulous Feeling on a Friday? You could phone in and leave a very brief message on 0161 369 7766 about what you do on a Friday that gives you a good feeling. this will be turned into words by SpinVox and appear on the very search engine friendly portal Business in Berkshire and you have a chance of having it read out in the studio.
This magic will work for free but there are two catches: you only have until 12th June, and your message must be under a minute. Still, if you have done any networking you will know a minute is not very long! If in doubt think like twitter and make it just one short sentence.

So think about what you do that helps you get or keep a Fabulous Friday Feeling (the more related to your business the better), then pick up the phone and dial 0161 369 7766. When you have given your message, say your name and give your domain name.
For example "I always have a cup of coffee midmorning in the garden near the lavender while I think about the garden designs I have done during the week Jane Gardner www.gardendesigns.co.uk.
You will be spreading search engine love - and helping to make us all feel good in the recession. The bankers, big business and our elected MP's dont seem to know what they are doing .. perhaps it is up to smaller business to turn the tide of recession?

Start thinking and then phone up. If you do it wrong just have another go. A real human being will be looking at the words and will tidy it up so don't worry!

I am reading ...
HOW TO MAKE ONE HELL OF A PROFIT AND STILL GET TO HEAVEN

I have heard John de Martini speak on two occasions and he electrifies the room! He makes you think about the meaning of it all - as well as being hilariously entertaining. A wonderful combination. There are exercises to do at the end of the chapter which help you work out how the ideas apply to your life and business.

Internet Marketing owes a lot to direct marketing.

At the weekend I was lucky to hear one of the Uk's leadiing experts in Direct Marketing who reminded us that the internet is just one more way to reach the customer. Drayton Bird (yes, that is his name!) gave a lively engaging speech and was very humble about his own acheivements. It was a great reminder that effective selling and marketing comes back to knowing your prospective customer and building trust - if these are not in place, no amount of fancy tricks will bring success.

Talk "Use the Power of the Story in your Marketing".

Athena Network East Chilterns Regional Conference.

07 May 2008. Latimer House, Chesham, Bucks.

Stories are a fantastic way to tell prospective clients about what you do without selling to them! If you are networking with someone face to face, you can tell a story that matches the experience of the person in front of you. If they identify with the situation they will feel compelled to ask more, and are far more ready to trust you.

If you like to be authentic and honest, this is the perfect way to market your business without sounding like a sales person.

Your stories can be read as testimonials, they can be abbreviated into quotes, or presented more formally as Case Studies. It depends on the audience, and on whether you are writing an email newsletter, a website or blog, a brochure or tender document.

Please book for the conference through the Athena website
